Aussie Rapper L-FRESH The LION’s Music Video About Racism Flooded With Racist Comments

Aussie rapper L-FRESH The LION has copped a storm of abuse after his new music video about racism was featured on the front page of YouTube Australia today.

The Western Sydney MC’s clip for ‘RACI$T / OUR WORLD’ — which was created as part of YouTube’s #CreatorsForChange series — shines a spotlight on racism, while preaching a message of unity and togetherness.

Since it was premiered by YouTube at the Tribeca TV Festival last month, the video has clocked up over 60K views and hundreds of comments, but, sadly, not all of them have been supportive.

In fact, some of them have been downright disgusting:

L-FRESH has declined to comment to Music Feeds about the racist comments he’s received, but he’s pointed out that these kind of racist attitudes are exactly what his song is about, given it’s packing lyrics like:

“Surrounded by man-made walls, we’re all prisoners / Trapped in a cycle of comments sections and statuses / Void of any compassion, facts or analysis / Tryna gather up the energy to make it through the savageness.”
