Australian Prodigy Troye Sivan Streams New Track ‘Happy Little Pill’

19-year old Australia-bred actor and YouTube star Troye Sivan has unveiled the first single Happy Little Pill, taken from his forthcoming debut EP TRXYE which is due to hit the airwaves on Friday, 15th August.

The Perth, by way of South Africa, artist has amassed an impressive 91.4 million views to his YouTube channel and garnered a loyal following from 2.3 million subscribers. Having first come to public attention for his role as James Howlett in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the young prodigy last year signed a record deal with EMI Australia.

The five-song EP, TRXYE, is due out worldwide on August 15th and a limited edition CD is available to pre-order through his official site. Happy Little Pill showcases Sivan’s R&B and pop influences, including the likes of Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Frank Ocean and Haim.

“I wrote this song during a bit of a rough time for someone super close to me, and for myself, and it still means as much to me as the day I wrote it,” explains Sivan on his Tumblr.
