Autre Ne Veut Announces Laneway 2014 Sideshow Dates

Having already been announced as part of the mega lineup for Laneway Festival 2014, fans of neo-soul transcendentalist Autre Ne Veut have even more reason to celebrate with the announcement that he’ll be playing his own tour dates in Melbourne and Sydney this February.

Widely seen as having paved the way for similarly left-of-field R&B impressionists like Frank Ocean and The Weeknd, Autre Ne Veut — a French phrase meaning “I want no other — first made heads turn and then swim with his 2010 self-titled debut LP, then with the follow-up, Anxiety.

Real name Arthur Ashin, this Brooklynite holds a Masters degree in psychology, filling his critically-lauded lyrics with images of the anxiety and neurosis of daily life, with his live shows described as a cathartic experience where Ashin “bonds with his adoring fans.”

Making his inaugural visit to Aussie shores, following his Laneway performances Autre Ne Veut will be playing a show at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Tuesday, 4th February and a show at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory the following night. Readers can check below for all details.

UPDATE 15/01/14: Melbourne based singer-songwriter and producer, Oscar Key Sung, will be joining the Laneway sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.
