Adelaide garage rockers Bad//Dreems have announced a 4-date tour for September and October 2014, buoyed by the release of a rather reflective new single titled My Only Friend.
Following the band’s record store tour, which was backed by previous single Dumb Ideas, Bad//Dreems launched right into touring in support of Sydney group The Preatures, and won some new fans in the process. Now, the group have announced that they will return for some headlining shows after appearing at the Bigsound music conference in Brisbane this September.
Bad//Dreems’ new single My Only Friend (below) sets the themes of loss, isolation and crippling self-doubt against a backdrop of reverberating guitars and dodgy fan-shot tour footage. The band worked with producer Mark Opitz (AC/DC, Cold Chisel, The Angels, INXS) on the track.
My Only Friend is out now digitally, and will be available on double A-side 7-inch vinyl at live shows and over at the band’s official website. Check out Bad//Dreems’ full tour details, below.
UPDATE 28/08/14: Bad//Dreems have announced that their upcoming shows in Adelaide and Melbourne have sold out. To meet an overwhelming demand from fans, they’ve added second shows to take place at Shebeen in Melbourne on Thursday, 2nd October and Jive in Adelaide on Sunday, 12th October.
The band are also excited to announce that they will soon be going international, having been invited to showcase at the renowned CMJ Music Marathon in New York. While in the States, the band will also perform at the Culture Collide Festival in Los Angeles and were recently announced for Victoria’s Down On The Farm Festival, playing alongside Aussie punk legends Cosmic Psychos.
