Bec Sandridge has shared her second single of 2025, entitled ‘Healthy Shock’. It follows on from the release of May’s ‘Always A Fan’, and sees the Stanwell Park native working with producer Nick Zaharias as her co-producer. In a press statement, Sandridge noted that the song originally stemmed from her “obsession with the slipperiness of femininity and butchness”.
“‘Healthy Shock’ [is about] that glimmering space between pretty and handsome that has no real name,” she said. “It’s a song about power, desire and pleasure — not the kind we’re handed when we perform masculinity to be taken seriously, but something physical, loud, and free. I wanted it to bruise, bite, and crack open. It’s also the most hands-on I’ve ever been in production, too.
“Every noise, every silence carries fingerprints in some way, from the fuzzed-out guitar to the breaths at the end. I wanted to reclaim ‘dyke’. Reclaim ‘butch’. The feminine, the masculine… [I wanted to] break it open, [and] keep the noise and the mess.” The release of ‘Healthy Shock’ comes with an accompanying music video, which sees Sandridge team up with the Melbourne chartered biker contingent Dykes On Bikes. She co-directed the video, alongside Richard Clifford – AKA RC Stills.

“Bec’s a powerhouse,” wrote Dykes On Bikes in a statement shared to their social media channels. “Our serious biker faces don’t show just how much fun we had behind the scenes, or how blown away we were by Bec’s talent.” Clifford, for his part, described the pairing as the “ultimate collab”.
Sandridge is set to tour in support of her new material on the Always A Fan tour in September. She will be performing with her band, which currently features longtime collaborator Dave Jenkins, Jr. on drums and FVNERAL’s Tim Blunt on bass. The full list of Sandridge’s tour dates can be found below.
