Belle Haven Return With Classy New Pop-Punk Bop ‘it’s not that deep’

Melbourne’s favourite emo Gigachads Belle Haven have shared their first new music of 2025, a euphoric new slice of pop-punk ear candy dubbed ‘it’s not that deep’.

Produced and engineered with the master of pop-punk Jack Newlyn (Between You And Me, Teenage Joans, Stuck Out), the track is a sugar rush of catchy melodies, bouncy grooves and tongue-in-cheek lyrics about self acceptance. In essence, this song is a classy eyeroll in the face of a fixated bully’s attempts to tear you down.

Belle Haven – ‘it’s not that deep’

“You don’t have to carry the weight of someone else’s version of you,” explains frontman David De La Hoz. “People will paint you however they need to fit their story, but sometimes that’s all it is. It’s not that deep”.

The track comes on the back of a transformative year for Belle Haven, who transitioned from their post-hardcore sadboi roots to become an alt-rock boyband to-be-reckoned-with following the release of their critically acclaimed EP ‘something new’, showcase at BIGSOUND and coveted slot opening Melbourne’s Good Things Festival.
