Earning his stripes as frontman for the highly acclaimed Southport outfit Gomez, Ben Ottewell has announced a run of Australian tour dates in support of his solo adventures. Ottewell will be loading his swag with tunes spanning his entire career as he prepares for an extensive run of headlining shows Down Under from June to July.
In 2011, the world took its first look at what Ottewell was capable of on his ownsome. That year, he released his full-length debut Shapes & Shadows which featured the stellar title track single that resonated not just with Gomez fans but a much broader community of music lovers.
The shows will comprise of a variety of tracks as Ben explores not just his solo catalogue, including tracks from Shapes & Shadows, but also the wealth of Gomez material on offer. Rest assured Ottewell will also be busting out the odd cover version or two, given his penchant of paying homage to his favourite artists.
This isn’t the first time Ottewell has showcased his solo goods here either, so get in quick before repeat offenders snap up all the tickets. This time round, all shows except for WA will be opened by Melbourne master-of-all-trades Matt Walker.
