Beyond The Valley Festival: Phillip Island’s New Year’s Eve 2014

Victoria’s Phillip Island is now getting a brand new festival with the announcement of Beyond The Valley, a distinctive music festival that expects to draw over 10,000 patrons in its inaugural year.

The announcement was made via a video featuring headdress-sporting figures dancing around a fire soundtracked by AlunaGeorge’s Superstar remixed by Cosmo’s Midnight. Could we see them at the festival this year, when it takes place at Philip Island from December 30- 31?

The creation of the new festival follows last year’s cancellation of the Pyramid Rock Festival, a two-day-and-night annual music festival hosted at Phillip Island over the new year, due to “tough economic conditions”.

Spread across two stages and two days, Beyond The Valley Festival promises a carefully curated line-up of artists spanning a cohesive variety of genres and styles. “Through its focus on production, décor and theming, Beyond The Valley will create a separate world to the one outside the festival,” reads the press statement.

Camping will be set up on the sites fields and will be free to all ticket holders. There will also be a pop-up luxury hotel with its very own concierge and first class amenities whoch include a daily hangover spa. The festival also promises that food and beverage services will be “held to a higher standard” than other similar festivals.

Stay tuned for the full festival lineup, expected to be dropped in August.
