Barcelona-residing Canadian electronic music producer Sinjin Hawke has cancelled his upcoming Australian tour, which included sets at Beyond The Valley festival and Sydney’s Harbour Party lineup, due to “recording commitments”.
Quick to quell fan disappointment, Beyond The Valley festival have already announced his replacement with the news that Canberra EDM stars The Aston Shuffle will now join the Beyond The Valley lineup and will be performing live at the festival. Harbour Party organisers have yet to make a statement, but Hawke’s details have been removed from the festival’s official website.
“We are incredibly excited to be added to this year’s line-up,” said the band in a statement. “We’re bringing our full live show so expect nothing but party vibes and good times to bring in the new year!”
The duo will be playing tunes from their highly-anticipated sophomore full-length effort, Photographs, released earlier this year three years after the pair’s debut, Seventeen Past Midnight.
They’ll now join a roster that already features the formidable likes of AlunaGeorge and Danny Brown, Hermitude, Indian Summer, Holy Holy, D.D. Dumbo, Allday, Pond, The Preatures and Sydney’s hip hop supergroup One Day.
One Day earlier replaced New York rapper Action Bronson, following his second Australian tour cancellation this year. That cancellation was also due to “recording commitments”, according to a brief statement released by Beyond the Valley at the time.
