BIGSOUND Share Major Keynote Speakers And Announce Official Parties

After sharing the first round of live acts who will be heading to Brisbane to showcase at this year’s BIGSOUND, the country’s largest music industry gathering have today added more names to the conference lineup.

They’ve today added four speakers into the mix in Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino, music writer and figure Vivien Goldman, Frontier Touring’s Sahara Herald and acclaimed artist Mojo Juju.

Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino has become a prominent and outspoken voice for women. Aside from writing stellar indie anthems, she’s also lent her voice to speaking out against sexism and sexual assault, shared her journey to sobriety and her struggles with insomnia.

Vivien Goldman has done it all – working for publications such as NME, Sounds and Melody Maker, doing radio on pirate radio, working with labels, was part of 80’s new-wave duo Chantage and to top it all of, she’s an acclaimed author too, her latest book being ‘Revenge of the She-Punks’, a look into female voices across the punk movement.

Sahara Herald is an Aussie music staple. She spent 18 years as the National Event Co-ordinator of the Big Day Out before moving over to Frontier Touring where in 2018, she was appointed Tour Director for the company. She’s played a huge part in the success of record breaking tours such as Troye Sivan, Lords, Paul Kelly and more.

Mojo Juju is one of Australia’s most important voices. Her record Native Tongue takes us on her journey of self-discovery and storytelling through song.

BIGSOUND have today also announced their official party program, with purple pass holders being able to gain access to no less than 16 different events like the BIGSOUND Virgin Australia ‘HOME’ Welcome Party (with Electric Fields, DRMNGNOW, Deline Briscoe and Mambali), Levi’s® Showcase (with Milan Ring, Kobie Dee, Stevan and Dulcie) and more.

International delegations from Singapore (Hear65) and Canada (Music BC and Indigenous North) will be along for the ride, as well as this year’s national spotlights Adelaide and the Gold Coast, with artists and industry from those regions hosting parties to show off their talent.
