Birds Of Tokyo Cover ‘Talking To A Stranger’ For Hunters & Collectors Tribute

Birds Of Tokyo have today released their offering to the upcoming Hunters & Collectors tribute album, Crucible – The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors, for our listening pleasure, tackling Talking To A Stranger from the Hunnas’ chart-topping 1982 self-titled record.

The classic Aussie rock track sounds totally different when translated into the world of Birds Of Tokyo, a good indication of the quality we can expect from the album. The song stands as the lead release off the album, which is only fitting as Talking To A Stranger was the first single released off Hunters & Collectors’ self-titled effort.

That single was, of course, followed by a grocery-list of successful tracks, 15 of which were selected for Crucible. Native sweethearts such Alpine, Matt Corby and Miss Higgins, Cloud Control feature on the Mushroom-championed project, as well as international music greats Eddie Vedder & Neil Finn on quintessential track Throw Your Arms Around Me.

Hunters & Collectors were recently announced as supports on Bruce Springsteen’s Wrecking Ball tour, which will reach Australian shores again in 2014. Crucible – The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors will be released Friday, 27th September.
