Black Veil Brides, Eagles Of Death Metal For Soundwave 2014?

UPDATE: Second Soundwave 2014 lineup has been announced — full details here!

The emergence of a poster for a New Zealand hard rock festival dubbed Westfest has ignited strong rumours that Aussies could see garage rock band Eagles Of Death Metal and glam metal outfit Black Veil Brides added to the lineup for Soundwave Festival 2014.

According to the poster, as published by FasterLouder, the two-day event takes place days before Soundwave kicks off in Brisbane on 22nd February, and will play host to several key Soundwave acts, including Rob Zombie, Megadeth, and Five Finger Death Punch on Day One.

Meanwhile Day Two will reportedly see performances from Korn, Asking Alexandria, August Burns Red, Whitechapel and Terror, all of whom are likewise part of the Soundwave roster. But Day One will also apparently feature an appearance by the non-Soundwave-confirmed EODM, with sets from Black Veil Brides and NZ’s Saving Grace on Day Two.

Apparent tour presenter, ODR Productions, have quickly taken to their official Facebook page to let fans know that the information on the Westfest poster is not entirely factual, saying:

“Apparently there is a poster out there about an upcoming festival in NZ. The information ‘leaked’ is not correct and anything on there should be disregarded as fake/spam.

We do however have many big things coming out soon one of which is on Friday.”

Fellow alleged Westfest presenter Groove Guide likewise took to social media to dispel any rumours floating around, tweeting, “There is a poster going around facebook re: “Westfest”. We regret to inform you that information is incorrect.”

Despite two sources now claiming the information on the Westfest poster is false, logistically its claims do pass muster. Back in March, EODM frontman Jesse Hughes claimed in an interview that he would like to get QOTSA frontman and EODM drummer Josh Homme back with the band for a tour.

Meanwhile QOTSA’s highly-awaited Australian tour with Nine Inch Nails takes place immediately after Soundwave wraps up, with a rather large gap appearing in QOTSA’s tour dates between mid-December and early March.

EODM meanwhile only have the one tour date scheduled for California in early February. Stay tuned to Music Feeds and we’ll keep you up to date with all the details as they come through.
