Bluesfest Adds 11 New Acts To 2015 Lineup

11 new acts have been added to the Bluesfest 2015 lineup this morning, including Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Augie March, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Justin Townes Earle, Ash Grunwald, Blue King Brown and a Midnight Oil tribute led by Declan Kelly titled Diesel n’Dub.

Other acts newly named to play the Byron Bay festival in April include Donavon Frankenreiter (as previously reported), roots collective The Beautiful Girls, singer-songwriter Steve Smyth and blues musician Karl S. Williams.

Charles Bradley, the Screaming Eagle of Soul, will make his Bluesfest debut in 2015 with sets on Easter Sunday & Easter Monday. Bradley will be backed by his Extraordinaires, a group which consists of musicians from The Dap Kings, The Menahan St Band and Budos Band, to name a few. Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires have already locked in headline dates around appearances at Bluesfest and West Coast Blues & Roots Festival.

Augie March are set to perform at Bluesfest on Thursday 2nd April, backed by their latest album, Havens Dumb. Declan Kelly’s Diesel n’Dub will deliver the songs of Midnight Oil in a reggae dub style at Bluesfest, with contributions from roots and Indigenous musicians including Emma Donovan, Alex Lloyd, Pat Powell, Radical Son and Tony Hughes from King Tide.

Bluesfest 2015 will be held over the Easter long-weekend, from Thursday, 2nd April to Monday, 6th April 2015, in Byron Bay’s Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm. Previously announced acts include Lenny Kravitz, The BlackKeys, Jurassic 5 and Ben Howard. Festival details and the updated lineup are available below.
