Bon Iver Add Two Extra Shows To 2023 Australian Tour

A few days after announcing their long-awaited return to Australia, Bon Iver have added a pair of extra shows, one apiece in Sydney and Melbourne. The forthcoming Australian visit marks the Justin Vernon-led project’s first national tour since 2012.

In addition to headline shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, the tour will include appearances at various festivals, including Perth Festival, Tasmania’s MONA FOMA and Adelaide’s WOMADelaide.

Justin Vernon appears as a guest vocalist on the new single from The National, titled ‘Weird Goodbyes’, which arrived this week. Bon Iver’s most recent singles, ‘PDLIF’ and ‘AUATC’, came out in 2020; the band’s latest album, i,i, came out in August 2019.

The group’s forthcoming tour will be their first visit to Australia since 2016, when they played four sold-out headline shows at the Sydney Opera House for Vivid LIVE. A planned return in 2021 was cancelled due to Covid uncertainty. The group will now perform a second show at Sydney’s Aware Super Theatre on Saturday, 18th February and a second show at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Sunday, 5th March.
