Brian May Announces Queen-Themed Monopoly Set

Iconic UK rock outfit Queen are set release their own special edition of Monopoly.

The band’s guitarist Brian May announced the news in a statement on the band’s official website, revealing that Queen had been working on the game in secret for some time now to be released later this year.

“We’ve been very secretly developing Queen Monopoly for over a year,” said May. “And it’s due in a shop near you in May. I’m excited — it was a blast working on it — like making an album! We hope you love it!”

Queen have ditched the traditional monopoly pieces for the game, instead co-opting subjects of several of their greatest songs, videos and album covers to be the player pieces including the vacuum cleaner from ‘I Want To Break Free’, a bike from their ‘Bicycle Race’ video, and May’s iconic guitar.

The Daily Mail reports that the game will follow the band’s career, beginning with their first show in 1970 at Imperial College and that its final stop will be Queen’s final show with Freddie Mercury in 1986 at Knebworth Park.
