Damo Suzuki – ‘Give Me More Light’
Born as Kenji Suzuki in Tokyo, Damo Suzuki’s journey with Can began unexpectedly when he was discovered playing as a street musician in Munich by two members of the band. His improvisational approach to singing, coupled with the band’s experimental sound, contributed to the creation of timeless albums like Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi, and Future Days.
Damo Suzuki continued to pursue his musical career, fronting his own Damo Suzuki Band and establishing his music label, Damo’s Network. His influence extended far beyond the krautrock genre, with artists like David Bowie, Radiohead, and Talking Heads acknowledging Can’s impact on their music.
While details about Damo Suzuki’s death remain undisclosed, his legacy as a musician and innovative artist will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on the music world for generations to come.
