Corridos Singer Chuy Montana Kidnapped And Killed in Mexico

Rising Mexican corridos singer Chuy Montana was tragically found dead in Tijuana, Mexico on Wednesday, 7th February. The singer’s body was discovered near a highway connecting Rosarito to Tijuana. Several reports suggest that Chuy had been shot multiple times and was found with his hands tied. Law enforcement suspects he may have been kidnapped before he was killed.

Chuy Montana was originally from Tijuana, and his real name was Jesús Cárdenas. He was signed to Street Mob Records, a music label led by Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP), the lead singer of Fuerza Regida.

Chuy Montana’s Label Shared A Statement On His Death, Requesting Respect From The Media

The label shared in an Instagram post on Chuy Montana’s death “On behalf of Street Mob Records, we deeply regret the passing of our colleague and brother Chuy Montana,”. They said. “We stand in solidarity with his family during this time of grief. We kindly request understanding and respect from the media at this difficult moment.”

According to Punto Norte, a newspaper in Mexico. Chuy may have tried to escape from his captors, leading to a chase and his eventual death. Shell casings were found at the scene, and Chuy had gunshot wounds on his head and arms.

Chuy Montana was making waves with his 2023 hit single ‘Porte de Scarface,’ which has over 22 million plays on Spotify. His collaboration with Fuerza Regida on ‘Polvos de Chanel’ had also garnered attention in the music industry.

His untimely death has sparked concerns about the safety of artists, especially in cities like Tijuana. Chuy Montana’s death is a tragic reminder of the risks faced by musicians, particularly in regions where violence is a concern.
