Will Ferrell and Chad Smith have rekindled their doppleganger-based rivalry that began in 2014 with a drum-off on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Ferrell claimed victory on that occasion, but Red Hot Chili Peppers’ stick wielder Smith wasn’t done with comedian Ferrell, and earlier this year the two announced a charity event where they would go head to head once more.
The charity Quinceanera was held in Los Angeles this weekend, with the fierce rivals joined by some huge celebrities as they captained teams of drummers in a battle of epic proportions. Ferrell brought together Fred Armisen, Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac and the University of Southern California’s marching band. Not to be outdone, Chad Smith assembled the Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, Tommy Lee from Motley Crue and Stewart Copeland of The Police.
Watch the drum off unfold, below. The action kicks off at the 13 minute mark.
