Brian May, Alanis Morissette, Chad Smith Confirmed For Taylor Hawkins Tribute Shows

Foo Fighters will host a pair of tribute shows to their late drummer, Taylor Hawkins, this September. They’ve announced the first round of guests who’ll be joining them on Saturday, 3rd September at London’s Wembley Stadium and Tuesday, 27th September at Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

The London gig will feature Hawkins’ Coattail Riders band mate and Jane’s Addiction member, Chris Chaney, The Police’s Stewart Copeland, Oasis front person Liam Gallagher, Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme, the Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde, and Rush’s Geddy Lee.

Other names on the star-studded lineup include Brian May and Roger Taylor (Queen), Mark Ronson, Supergrass, Rufus Taylor (The Darkness), Wolfgang Van Halen, and Hawkins’ former side project, Chevy Metal. Dave Chappelle will make a “special appearance”.

Los Angeles

A number of the London guests will do double duty at the Los Angeles show, including Chaney, Copeland, Homme, Lee, May, Ronson, Roger and Rufus Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen and Chevy Metal. The Los Angeles show adds Hawkins’ old boss Alanis Morissette, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx, and Miley Cyrus.

Joan Jett is also on board, as well as Luke Spiller (The Struts), Omar Hakim, Alex Lifeson (Rush), Gene Simmons (KISS), Jon Theodore (QOTSA), Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine), and Pat Wilson (Weezer). Tickets for both shows are on sale Friday, 17th June at 9am local time.
