UPDATE 14/04/14 3pm: Chet Faker says he WON’T be on the Splendour in the Grass lineup after all – he tells us about the miscommunication here.

Melbourne-based down-tempo producer Nick Murphy, known in the world of Australian electronic music as Chet Faker, has confirmed his appearance at the forthcoming Splendour In The Grass 2014 festival. This will be the third year in a row that Murphy has appeared at Splendour.

In a recent interview with Purple Sneakers, Murphy was asked about his history with the popular festival and if fans can expect a return on the 2014 roster. “Yeah, for sure! – Isn’t the better question, when was the last time a festival booked the same artist three years in a row?” he said.

Murphy is now the second name confirmed for the 2014 Splendour bill, the first being 21-year-old NSW producer Max Armata aka Yahtzel, whose appearance was leaked via his official press bio, with management firm Audiopaxx later confirming the young producer’s status to Music Feeds.

Splendour In The Grass 2014 goes down at the North Byron Parklands in Byron Bay this Friday, 25th, Saturday 26th, and Sunday 27th July. The lineup rumour mill is running hot with names such as London Grammar, Sky Ferreira, Bombay Bicycle Club, and even Outkast seen as potentials.
