People Are Pointing Out How Much This Giant Baby Jesus Statue Looks Like Phil Collins

Oh no. Oh no.

As the New York Post reports, a church in Mexico claims it has “accidentally” erected the largest baby Jesus statue in the world – and it bears a… striking resemblance to a younger version of British musician Phil Collins.

Built for the La EpifanÍa del Señor church in the Mexican state of Zacatecas, the statue is about 22-foot tall and sits at just over 900 kilograms, and is reminiscent of the front tufted hair the ‘Jesus He Knows Me’ and ‘Something Happened on the Way to Heaven’ singer rocked around the mid 80’s – not to mention those big blue eyes.

“There is a space of between 26 feet between the ceiling and the floor and I ordered a statue measuring 21 feet, but I never intended to make it the biggest baby Jesus statue in the world,” Priest Humberto Rodriguez told Central European News, choosing not to comment on the statue’s similarities to the Genesis frontman.

As you can imagine, the internet is having a time with the new discovery.

“I would go to this church and I don’t even go to church,” wrote one Twitter user. Others pointed out that Genesis is the first book in the Bible.

“I’m gonna tell my kids Phil Collins is Jesus,” joked another.

Rodrigeuz also says he’s contacted Guinness World Records to confirm the statue is in fact a record for its size – if approved, they will hold the title for “Largest Baby Jesus State,” according to the Post.
