Daft Punk Replica Helmets Will Not Be Given To Ticket-Holders At Wee Waa Album Launch

Despite previous reports that replica Daft Punk helmets would be handed out at the upcoming Wee Waa album launch for Random Access Memories, it now appears attendees will have to provide their own robotic headgear.

The news came from a Sony representative who said no replica helmets would be given to ticket holders headed to the album launch, despite Narrabi Mayor Conrad Bolton’s comments to the contrary.

Previously Bolton told TheMusic.com.au that even though Daft Punk won’t actually be attending, the Wee Waa album launch would still be a “world class” event complete with Daft Punk replica helmets:

“Even though the band will not be turning up the delivery of the album will be world class and characterise the uniqueness of Daft Punk. Replica helmets are and will be handed out to ticket holders.”

Ah well, you win some you lose some. After what seems like an eternity of promotion we are now only 4 days away from the official album launch, taking place in the regional NSW town on Friday, 17th May. The Wee Waa album launch coincides with the local release of Random Access Memories, Daft Punk’s first album in 8 years.
