Daft Punk Stream ‘Random Access Memories’ In Full

The time has come – after months of teasers, tidbits and tasters, Daft Punk have finally dropped their new album, Random Access Memories, upon us so we can judge with our own ears what the months of buzz were all about. Initial impressions? RAM is the album we’ve been waiting for.

The record seems to deliver everything the French duo du jour promised and then some – this is the soundtrack to your Californian sunset open-top convertible ride on the way to Stevie Nicks’ disco, neon flashing in your oversized and wholly unnecessary sunglasses. Organic and warm without losing that Daft electronic edge, the pair have succeeded in giving human lives replete with romance and nostalgia to their robot counterparts.

Overnight (why do we have to sleep?) Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo dropped the final piece of their puzzle on us – an POV-shot album unboxing, with the robots showcasing a vinyl pressing of Random Access Memories, dropping the needle and tempting us with the first few bars of opening track Give Life Back To Music. You can watch the trailer below but, of course, you can basically forget all that now that you’ve got the record proper to listen to.

So enough of the prattle – you’re only here for one thing, and that thing is below. Stream Random Access Memories below via Grooveshark, or head on over to iTunes to stream, and don’t forget to drop an opinion in the comments below.
