Daniel Johns Working On Solo Record With Lorde Producer

Staying hermitic since Silverchair announced their indefinite hiatus two years ago, Daniel Johns has announced that he is working on a debut solo record and that one of his key collaborators will be the mastermind behind Lorde‘s sterling debut Pure Heroine, producer and songwriter Joel Little.

Little acted as producer and co-songwriter for every track on the critically-lauded Pure Heroine, including the chart-topping single, Royals. “It’s definitely opened some doors,” said Little of Royals, in a new interview with Billboard. “Having a hit song makes people take a bit more notice of you.”

The NZ native then revealed that he has “been doing some writing with Daniel Johns from Silverchair. He’s working on his solo record. I’ve always been a fan of those guys, so it’s been really cool to do some stuff with him.” The record is reportedly composed of material that was intended for the next Silverchair album.

Meanwhile, Australian rapper 360 recently revealed that his upcoming album will feature both Johns and Aussie EDM stalwarts The Presets. “It’s a fuckin’ crazy track, it’s totally epic, and I don’t think people are gonna expect what it is, to be honest,” said the rapper of his Johns collaboration.
