Darwin Festival 2013 Official Lineup Announcement

For a total of 18 days throughout August, Australia’s Top End will be the place to be. Darwin Festival has now officially announced the lineup for its 2013 return offering a mix of dance, rock, folk, blues and everything in between.

85 different events have been locked into the Darwin calendar this year with acts such as, rock greats You Am I and Sietta all partaking on different bills on different stages. Indigenous performer Archie Roach will also be making an appearance with the traditional opening night free concert at the Gardens Amphitheatre featuring Midnight Juggernauts, Mama Kin, T-Lynx and rapper Jimblah.

Local boys Green Stone Garden will be performing with David Garnham and the Reasons to Live and plenty more talent can be expected.

The National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs) will also held at the amphitheatre with a tribute to the late Yothu Yindi frontman Dr Yunupingu.

Some of the lineup may not be too much of a shock given that organisers accidentally made part of the list private during a council meeting, which featured members of the public. Nevertheless Darwin Festival 2013 is shaping up to be the biggest in the events history.
