After a bonza debut earlier this year, the Sydney instalment of South by Southwest will return for its second annual outing in 2024, with organisers announcing an official save-the-date.
SXSW Sydney will return to take over the city’s CBD for another week-long event connecting the world’s leading creatives across the tech, music, screen and gaming industries next October, running from Monday 14th – Sunday 20th.

This year’s event marked the first time that SXSW had ever expanded outside of its Austin, Texas home, with the inaugural Sydney event attracting almost 100,000 attendees from 41 countries to over 1000 performances, keynote addresses, panel sessions, screenings and more running throughout the city.
Hundreds of artists performed in the course of a jam-packed few days, loading into venues big and small in and around the CBD, including internationals such as America’s Almost Monday, UK’s SORRY, NZ’s Daily J, UK indie singer Connie Constance, Los Bitchos, Canadian artist Ekkstacy, American rapper redveil and Japanese punks Otoboke Beaver, alongside locals such as Death by Denim, Barkaa, Mia Wray, Gut Health, DICE, Mitch Santiago and countless others.
Badges to the 2024 instalment of SXSW Sydney will go on sale in the new year, which is when applications for the 2024 Session Select and Music, Screen and Games showcases will also go live.
