Don’t Be Alarmed But The 1975 Have Gone Heavy On New Track ‘People’

Bloody Merry Friday, because The 1975 have dropped a new song ‘People’ and it’s very good.

‘People’ sees The 1975 frontman, Matt Healy have a bit of a scream, the instrumentals are riff-heavy and the percussion is fast. It’s a marked change in sound from former releases and almost hard to believe this same band released ‘Chocolate’ back in 2013.

It’s the most punkish song The 1975 have done and it comes as the lead single off of their upcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form.

‘People’ features lyrics, “People like people/They want alive people/The young surprise people/Stop fucking with the kids”. The lyrics in ‘People’ along with the lyrics in their previous release ‘The 1975’ indicate that this upcoming album is likely to be pretty political.

The video for ‘People’ sees The 1975 go hard. Matt Healy has long hair, there’s flashing lights, and that classic thing hardcore bands do where they grab the camera and sing into it.

The follow up to A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, Notes on a Conditional Form was initially set for release in May this year. Now, we’re expecting it to be released Friday, 21st February 2020.

The 1975 kick off their Aussie tour next month too — check out all the dates here.
