Clear your weekend, pack your sunnies, and prepare to melt into a coastal fever dream – because Dulcie’s Merimbula, the beloved South Coast boozer with the iconic jacaranda and the kind of vibes you can’t bottle, is officially turning 10 years old. And they’re celebrating with a three-night, whole-town, free-entry musical bender.
Now with NITE-RITE entertainment curating the calendar, the venue has become a serious hotbed for live music – a magical little coastal stop for touring acts making their way between Melbourne and Sydney. They’ve already pulled two sold-out Brad Cox album launch nights this month alone, with a calendar packed tighter than a festival esky.
“We’re throwing a monster weekend of celebrations and everyone is invited”
So for their 10th birthday, Dulcie’s has decided to swing big:
The Party Lineup:
FRI 28 NOV — “The Opening Ceremony”
Featuring quite possibly the world’s best party band Vinyl 45 plus Danny Beus of Dune Rats fame spinning tunes and causing trouble. Expect dancing. Expect yelling. Expect someone to lose a thong.
SAT 29 NOV — Rock, Funk & Retro Mayhem
Gadigal retro rock lords Necko crash the courtyard, joined by Naarm swamp-funk merchants Gooey Drop and the always-unpredictable SIMBA on DJ duties.
SUN 30 NOV — “The Long Lunch”
A full day of live music, drag and DJs, headlined by troubadour Felicity Dowd, plus local heroes Tequila Schmëckingbird and drag icon Alexander McKween curating the afternoon’s chaos.
And because Dulcie’s is peak community energy, the weekend also features:
- A free Bunnings-style sausage sizzle for anyone who’s hungry
- Guest chefs on the BBQ smokers
- Incredible cocktails
- Drag shows
- DJs all day and night
- A whole town vibing together in Yuin Country
In their words: “Surprise! We turn 10 this month – we’re throwing a monster weekend of celebrations and everyone is invited.”
Dulcie’s has always been powered by its community, a decade-long love story between locals, blow-ins, musicians, misfits and everyone in between. And now they’re inviting the whole region – hell, the whole country – to celebrate under the jacaranda where so many good nights have started (and foggy mornings have ended).
Happy 10th birthday, Dulcie’s – here’s to another decade of delicious chaos.
