Eddie Vedder To Make Guest Appearance At Soundwave 2014?

UPDATE: The third Soundwave 2014 lineup announcement has dropped — full details here.

Will we be seeing a guest appearance from the one and only Eddie Vedder at Soundwave 2014? AJ Maddah seems to think so, taking to Twitter to suggest that the Pearl Jam frontman may drop by the Brisbane installment of the festival, despite having a solo gig that night.

Maddah made the claims in response to a fan who tweeted disappointment about the clash between the festival and Vedder’s headlining gig, saying “although I have a good feeling we may just see your guy make a SW appearance since he is tight w AIC and STP!”

Tight with Stone Temple Pilots and Alice In Chains as he may be, both bands are likely to have later sets at the festival, being third and fourth on the bill respectively.

In theory, though, they could both be done and dusted by 9pm, which could give the vocalist a reasonable amount of time to appear on stage for one hell of a ’90s grunge reunion and still make it to his own show.

And when you consider that Vedder is playing only 8 minutes away from Soundwave’s Brissie home at the RNA Showgrounds, with the QPAC Concert Hall just over the river and around the corner, it seems like Maddah might be on the money.

Soundwave 2014 and Eddie’s headlining show both take place on Saturday, 22nd February, although Vedder will also perform solo on 23rd February if you don’t want to take the risk.
