Embalmed Corpse Of Dead Rapper Put On Display At US Nightclub

The embalmed corpse of a rapper who was shot dead last month has been hung up on display at a nightclub event celebrating his musical legacy.

24-year-old Goonew was killed in a suspected armed robbery in Prince George’s County, Maryland, on March 18th.

As police continue to investigate the incident, his family and friends have come together at Washington, D.C.’s Bliss Nightclub to say goodbye.

Billed as the rapper’s “final show”, the nightclub event also reportedly featured a star cameo from the dead body of Goonew himself.

As Complex points out, Goonew’s embalmed corpse was propped up on full display during the whole thing, dressed up with a crown and designer clothing.

One attendee, a rapper named Black Fortune, has since confirmed on social media that it was indeed Goonew’s dead body and “no wax figure”.

“As long as his mother was happy that’s all that matter,” he added, justifying the move.

However, the controversial corpse cameo has caused a bit of backlash, with the nightclub issuing a statement apologising for any offence caused and pleading ignorance for its role in the situation, saying it was “never made aware” that Goonew’s body would be displayed publicly like it was.

“Bliss was contacted by a local funeral home to rent out our venue for Goonew’s home-going celebration,” the statement notes.

“We sincerely apologize to all those who may be upset or offended. Please keep Goonew’s family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time. Respectfully, Bliss DC.”
