As Melbourne music fans can start to look forward to their city being filled with live music once more, this Summer has welcomed two special events at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be performing two concerts, titled ‘Performance of a Lifetime’, on December 13 and 14; vocalists on deck to join and entertain include Tim Rogers, Kaiit, Emma Donovan, Mo’Ju, Felix Riebl (The Cat Empire) and Liz Stringer. As reported by The Age, the MSO will perform snippets of theatrical productions that are in progress in Melbourne, or will be set to debut. These include Harry Potter and The Cursed ChildMoulin! Rouge and Frozen.

“We haven’t done a concert to a live audience since July, it’s going to be a long time between drinks. It’s that shared experience that makes it special,” MSO conductor Ben Northey said in The Age’s feature. “We all feel the music at the same time with the audience, we feed off the energy from them and we give it back to them.”

Tickets for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s ‘Performance of a Lifetime’ are on sale from November 8 here.
