UPDATE: The full 2017/2018 Falls Festival lineup has now been announced.
ORIGINAL STORY: We already know that Childish Gambino and London Grammar are playing Falls Festival, but now we have a whole heap of names to add to the list, and they’re great ones too.
Falls have really gone above and beyond for this year’s lineup, bringing the likes of Catfish And The Bottlemen and Fat Freddy’s Drop to the country for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
It doesn’t stop there, though. Grouplove, Broods and MØ are all heading to Australia as well, while it wouldn’t be an Aussie New Year’s without some great homegrown tunes from the likes of The Avalanches, Alison Wonderland, Violent Soho, Matt Corby and stacks more featured on the bill.
Of course, Childish Gambino was added as a headliner a few weeks ago while London Grammar was revealed as a sneaky teaser this morning.
This year’s Falls Festival will happen in its usual spots of Victoria’s Lorne, NSW’s Byron Bay and Tassie’s Marion Bay as well as a new location – WA’s Fremantle (however, some acts will unfortunately not be able to make the trip out West – details below).
And on top of the massive multigenre live music roster, this year’s festival will also be packing the usual bonus bits and pieces, from modern camping facilities to makers’ markets, visual arts, performances, creative installations, beach access, pop-up bars and beer gardens, food trucks and restaurants, holistic and wellbeing services, local traders, interactive games and more.
Each location will also have a slightly different lineups, with stacks more acts still to be announced for each. But you can check out the full first announcement, plus all the important dates, below.
Update 20/08/16: Tickets to Falls Festival Lorne have officially sold out, just 45 minutes after going on sale.
Update 02/09/16: Falls Byron Bay is now sold out too.
UPDATE 1/12/16: Grouplove have cancelled their entire Australian tour including all Falls Festival shows and sideshows.
