Fans Raise $10K For Dispossessed Less Than A Day Since Gear Stolen

Written by Zanda Wilson on October 18, 2016

Indigenous rights punk band Dispossessed have been overwhelmed to the incredible response by fans less than a day after they announced that more than $5,000 worth of equipment had been stolen from them on the weekend.

Yesterday the band started a GoFundMe to try and recoup some of their losses, and today they took to Facebook this afternoon to announce that in less than a day they’d been able to raise over a mind-blowing $10,000.

“Thank you all for donating/sharing and for your overall support,” posted the band. “We are seriously blown away…..”

Dispossessed lost a huge amount of equipment in the robbery, including drums, guitars and guitar pedals – but thanks to the kindness of their fan base they should be able to replace pretty much everything.

“Really appreciate all the mob getting behind us and showing your love for us in a dark time,” the band said upon updating their GoFundMe page. “Wanna say big thank you to the supporters and fam who donated to us mob.”

Although they’ve now reached their goal, you can still donate to their GoFundMe page here.
