FBi Announces 2017 SMAC Award Nominees

UPDATE: Here Are FBi Radio’s SMAC Award Winners For 2017

ORIGINAL STORY: Sydney community radio station FBi has announced the 2017 nominees for its annual Sydney Music, Arts & Culture (SMAC) Awards.

The awards celebrate the year’s best local music over four categories with additional categories awards live music events, food and art.

This year’s nominees include Body Type who have earned nods for Next Big Thing and Best Live Act and Party Dozen who also picked up two nominations for Record Of The Year for The Living Man and Best Live Act.

Newbie Odette also grabbed two nominations being named for Song Of The Year for her breakthrough track ‘Watch Me Read You’ and Next Big Thing. Meanwhile, emerging hip-hop artist Manu Crook$ got nominated for Best Live Act and Next Big Thing.

Elsewhere, Winston Surfshirt, Cloud Control, Touch Sensitive and Rainbow Chan were all nominated for one award each.

The winners will join an esteemed list of previous victors that includes The Preatures, Sampa The Great and Royal Headache. We’ll find out who is joining them when the awards are handed out on Tuesday, 30th January.

Public voting is open right now and will run until 5pm, 28th December. You can vote here.
