Flume Has Dropped A New Mix But There’s Still No Album

Flume has made a Bedtime Mix for the UK’s BBC Radio 1 which reflects more of the type of music he would play at home.

The Sydney producer put together a half hour collection of tracks including Little Dragon, Jamie xx, Shlohmo and Future Classic label mate Charles Murdoch.

While Flume is better known for dropping bangers on stage, this mix is a much calmer affair. “Lately I’ve been writing more upbeat stuff mainly because I’ve been playing out at festivals,” he said to Radio 1 host Phil Taggart.

“It’s more fun to play the heavier stuff, but my playlist at home is super chill. It looks a lot like the playlist I’ve given you.”

While this mix will keep fans happy for a little while we’re still waiting on his sophomore album Skin which is due to drop this year. Flume reiterated to Taggart that it’s a “very different” record to his debut. He also said that he’s, “finally at the end of it,” which means hopefully we’ll get to hear it soon.

The record has been preceded by the number one single Never Be Like You featuring Kai and Smoke & Retribution with Vince Staples and KUČKA.

You can listen to the full Bedtime Mix below. It’s the second mix he’s made for Radio 1 in under a year after her delivered a coveted Essential Mix late last year.
