Foals Have Started Working On Their Next Album

It looks like Foals have begun work on their new studio album, two years after the release of their fourth record What Went Down.

Their last album was released in 2015, but we could be getting new music from the British rockers soon, with frontman Yannis Philippakis posting a photo to Instagram overnight captioned “Off to write the next record brb.”

The most recent release from the band came in 2016 in the form of a one-off single titled ‘Rain’ which was originally recorded to be released on their most recent album but never made the final cut.

In an interview with NME in July, Philippakis hinted that the record was already partially written, in typically colourful Yannis language. “We’re in the marinating stage of thinking about getting onto the next record,” he said.

“We have a couple of bits written but it’s in the very early stages. We’re in the conception stage, we’re not pregnant yet, we’re just trying to have the kid.”
