Gang Of Youths Have Announced Their Own Festival For This August

Back in 2018, Gang of Youths organised their own curated festival, A More Perfect Union, taking place at Riverstage in Brisbane. Today, the band have announced they’ll be reviving the event in August, with both Tasmanian and Queensland dates. The Tasmanian edition will take place Regatta Grounds in Hobart on Sunday, 14th August, followed by an event at Sandstone Point Hotel in Queensland on Sunday, 20th August.

Each will feature a different lineup – in Hobart, the band will be joined by UK singer-songwriter Arlo Parks along with Cub Sport, Gretta Ray, The Lazy Eyes and Adam Newling. In Queensland, meanwhile, you’ve got Matt Corby, Middle Kids, Budjerah, BLESSED, Becca Hatch and Romero on the bill.

The A More Perfect Union shows will follow Gang of Youths’ return to Australia in late July, when they’ll kick off their first local headline tour in over three years. The shows will come in support of the band’s forthcoming third studio album, Angel in Realtime, which is set to arrive this Friday, 25th February.

“A More Perfect Union will be brought to Queensland and Tasmanian shores this August, in realtime. We are so grateful to each of the acts on this magnificent line up, we also can’t wait to get home,” the band commented in a statement. “Thank u to all of our hard working team that have helped us set this up – bring on August!”

Tickets for Gang of Youths’ A More Perfect Union festivals are on sale this Friday, 25th February from 10am local, with early access available by signing up here. Through PLUS1, $1 from each ticket sold will go to the Aboriginal Legal Service.
