Goo Goo Dolls Announce 2025 Australian Tour With Thirsty Merc

Goo Goo Dolls have announced their full return to Australia for a headlining tour in February 2025. The announcement comes after last week’s reveal that the American pop-rock mainstays would be one of the headlining acts of the 2025 Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong alongside Fontaines D.C., Denzel Curry and The Kooks across the first weekend of March. A full list of the band’s headlining tour dates, as well as pre-sale and ticketing information, can be found below.

The tour will notably be the Dolls’ first headlining run locally in 25 years. They last played their own shows circa February 1999 in support of their multi-platinum 1998 album Dizzy Up The Girl – home to the beloved singles ‘Slide’ and ARIA Chart-topper ‘Iris’. The band returned in 2002 as part of the short-lived M-One Festival alongside Billy Idol, Midnight Oil, Garbage and Nickelback, supporting Dizzy‘s follow-up Gutterflower. They would then not return for another 22 years, only breaking the drought this past February as main support on Matchbox Twenty‘s national Australian tour.

Joining the band as main support for all headlining shows are Thirsty Merc, who recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. Thirsty Merc, originally released in August of 2004, went on to Platinum certification by ARIA and sported five Top 50-charting singles between 2004 and 2005: ‘Emancipate Myself’, ‘My Completeness’, ‘Someday, Someday’, ‘When The Weather Is Fine’ and their signature song, Bondi Rescue theme song ‘In The Summertime’.

Between 2002 and their 2024 return, the Goo Goo Dolls released a total of seven studio albums – including their first-ever Christmas album, 2020’s It’s Christmas All Over. Their most recent studio album – and 14th overall – was entitled Chaos In Bloom, and released in August of 2022.
