Greens Leader Richard Di Natale Singing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Is Weirdly Wonderful

Given how bonkers Australia’s political scene is right now, it’s taken a Carpool Karaoke-style performance of Bohemian Rhapsody from Greens leader Richard Di Natale to even out the political playing field.

Di Natale’s skivvy-clothed take on the Queen classic took place during tonight’s episode of Lateline, in a temporary segment the show has of course called “Carpool Skivvaoke”.

In the clip (below), Di Natale and Lateline correspondent David Lipson rock out to Bohemian Rhapsody like nobody’s watching, as they drive straight into a weirdly rockin’ recreation of that famous scene from Wayne’s World. Garth would be proud.

Di Natale, who tells Lateline he’s been in his fair share of mosh-pits, might not be the best Freddie Mercury impersonator, but it’s safe to say his take on Bohemian Rhapsody is still better than Kanye West’s.

Watch Di Natale belt out the track in the clip below, alongside the brilliant car scene from Wayne’s World.

Tonight’s episode of Lateline will be broadcast on the ABC from 10:30pm AEST.
