Groovin The Moo To Launch New Festival With $1.2 Million Government Grant

Following in the footsteps of Splendour In The Grass, the legends behind one of your other festival faves Groovin The Moo have pocketed a tidy $1.2 million from the federal government, and will use it to launch a brand new regional event in 2021.

As triple j reports, the new multi-stop festie will be entitled ‘Fresh Produce’ and is set to sprout “in Spring, 2021″.

“Our team is really excited and feeling very fortunate to be building another festival that has its home across multiple regions around Australia,” Steve Halpin from GTM’s parent company, Cattleyard Promotions, told the broadcaster.

“…We look forward to sharing more news about Fresh Produce in 2021”.

GTM’s $1.2 million grant is part of the federal government’s $60 million RISE (Restart Investment to Sustain And Expand) piggy bank, which was set up to help the COVID-ravaged live music industry bounce back from the pandemic.

Secret Sounds, the company behind Splendour, have also benefitted from the fund to the tune of $1.5 million, and plan to use the cash to bankroll a new event in 2021 (however details so far remain slim).

As for Groovin The Moo itself, Halpin told the j‘s they’re “continuing their conversations with various stakeholders in regards to GTM 2021”.

Moosic to our ears!

We’ll bring you more news as it develops.
