Gym Class Heroes Announce 2024 Australian Tour

New York rap-rock outfit Gym Class Heroes have announced their first Australian tour in over a decade, playing three east-coast shows next month. The shows come less than six months after the band’s frontman, Travie McCoy, was touring the country as part of the Fridayz Live package alongside Boyz II Men, Flo Rida and Kelly Rowland.

The band last performed in Australia in 2013 as part of Newcastle’s Fat As Butter festival and as part of V8 Supercars on the Gold Coast – which, in turn, marked their final shows anywhere in the world before their initial split. The group reunited between 2018 and 2019, and began their second reunion last year with an appearance at the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas.

A pre-sale for the tour will begin tomorrow (February 7) via the tour’s promoter, Frontier Touring. A general sale will then follow on Wednesday February 9. The full run of dates and ticketing information can be accessed below.

Australia was home to the band’s first commercial breakthrough outside of the US, with their songs ‘Cupid’s Chokehold’ and ‘Clothes Off’ – both featuring hooks from Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump – hitting the top 20 of the ARIA Singles Chart in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

The band also hit it big locally with the release of The Papercut Chronicles II in 2011, which produced the triple-platinum single ‘Stereo Hearts’ (featuring Adam Levine of Maroon 5) and the Neon Hitch collaboration ‘Ass Back Home’, which went to number one in Australia – becoming the only song of theirs to do so outside of the States.
