Usually trending vids on YouTube are reserved for cats but nope, not this year.
Music dominated this year’s top trending YouTube videos in Australia based on time spent watching, sharing, commenting, liking and more.
Half of the top ten were music-related with James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke dominating everything, unsurprisingly. His song-filled trips with Sia, Jennifer Lopez and Adele all placed with the latter taking out the crown.
There was room for non-Carpool Karaoke-related stuffs though, like Halsey‘s triple j Like A Version which scraped in at number eight.
Her cover version of Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself recorded while she was here for Falls Festival placed which makes it the top trending Like A Version of the year.
It clocked up a huge 4.7 million views making it easily the most watched Like A Version of the year.
YouTube also gave us the top 10 music videos of the year, which was topped by Halsey and The Chainsmokers with Closer.
We let ourselves down in that department with zero Aussie musos making the top 10. Instead, you all replayed Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony and ZAYN vids.
Good job, guys.
