Hear The Avalanches’ Trippy New Song ‘Colours’

The Avalanches are living up to their name, delivering a proverbial deluge of new music since they emerged from their 16-year hibernation.

Ahead of the release of their long, long, looooooooong awaited sophomore album Wildflower on Friday, 16th July, the Melbourne electronic pioneers have now let slip their fourth new song.

Dubbed simply Colours, the fresh cut is a tripped out loop of samples that frankly sounds like it should soundtrack one of those suddenly-animated acid trip scenes that happen in movies sometimes.

It features guest vocals from singer Jonathan Donahue of Mercury Rev and follows their first official comeback single Frankie Sinatra, as well as the live debut of Subways and their just-released Toro Y Moi collab If I Was A Folkstar.

Check it out below and if you’re lucky enough to have bagged tickets you can catch the Avalanches live at Splendour In The Grass (with what should hopefully be a full band set) next month.
