Lana Del Rey has released a cover of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘You Must Love Me’ from the musical ‘Evita’ as part of a forthcoming Andrew Lloyd Webber collection.
Del Rey’s version of the musical number stays true to the original, showing how suited her voice is to show tunes.
The song was originally showcased in the 1978 musical before being recorded by Madonna for the 1996 film version which also saw her belt ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’.
It’s Del Rey’s first solo release of the year although she did appear as a feature on BOØRNS’ 2018 single ‘Good Save Our Young Blood’.
The Lloyd Webber collection is due for release on 16th March and reportedly features a Beyoncé cover of ‘Learn To Be Lonely’ from Phantom Of The Opera.
Del Rey is due to touch down in Australia in April for her first Australian tour since 2012.
