Hear The Rubens’ Bluesy Cover Of Chance The Rapper’s ‘Same Drugs’

Aussie four-piece The Rubens have dropped a minimal but rousing cover of Chance The Rapper‘s Same Drugs, a track that featured on his Coloring Book mixtape.

The band are re-releasing their second album Hoops, gifting fans with another disc of bonus acoustic versions of their own songs, plus this cover. The re-release is out on Friday, 4th November, but they’ve dropped the Chance cover early, along with a video which you can check out beow.

The group’s cover of Same Drugs pulls the gentle soul tune into The Rubens bluesy world, driven by frontman Sam Margin’s raspy vocals. The video features footage of the band in the studio and hanging out, pulling plenty of funny faces and also doing yoga on a mountain top.

Despite the fact that Hoops was released a year ago, the boys are still busy touring the country, getting ready to go out on a free national tour next month.

Check out the Same Drugs cover and tracklist for the forthcoming deluxe edition of the album, below.
