Yeah Yeah Yeahs are gearing up to play their first show in four years at Sound On Sound Festival in Texas, and in the lead up they’ve shared an unreleased song called ‘Phone Jam’.
The odd six-minute track is made up of recordings of voicemails left on lead vocalist Karen O’s phone, with music in the background.
It’s been a long wait since their last record Mosquito was released in 2013, so any new music has to be a promising sign for the near future. Karen O announced that the band were on “a bit of a hiatus” in 2014.
The song was posted to Yeah Yeah Yeahs socials with the words “Wait… #FeverToTell Tomorrow” which has fans postulating that they could either be ready to release new music or teasing a reissue of their 2003 debut album.
