Highasakite Announce Debut Australian Tour

Norwegian indie rock five-piece, Highasakite have just confirmed they’ll be making their debut tour of Australia this coming September, performing two shows at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory and Melbourne’s Howler this September.

Fronted by lead singer Ingrid Helene Håvik, who has drawn comparisons to Lykke Li and Bjork, Highasakite’s folk-inspired and electronically layered, lush latest album Silent Treatment has garnered favourable reviews across the Norwegian press and internationally.

Championed early on by Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon, who took them on tour after seeing them at Norway’s Øya Festival in 2012, the group recently toured the US with London Grammar.

They were also singled out by Laneway Festival, who are presenting this tour as one of their highlights at this year’s SXSW. At the time it was suggested that the band may turn up for Laneway 2015. Buzzy indeed.

Tickets for Highasakite’s debut Australian shows go on sale on Thursday, May 29 at 9am.
