Aussie festival favourite and champion of local talent, Homebake, sees its 18th birthday in 2013. To celebrate Homebake 2013 has expanded to a 3-day event, moved to a fancy new location and dropped a line up more than worthy of turning legal age, starring Paul Kelly, Gurrumul, The Presets, The Cat Empire, Birds Of Tokyo and Bernard Fanning.
The killer live tunes don’t stop there, with Eskimo Joe, Vance Joy, Architecture In Helsinki, The Aston Shuffle, The Rubens, You Am I, Beasts Of Bourbon and many, many more home-grown favourites rounding out the massive bill, which is set to rock Sydney from 6th-8th December.
And as previously leaked by Tex Perkins, the 2013 Homebake is moving to the Sydney Opera House Forecourt and its glorious surrounds, a one-off move away from the festival’s regular home at The Domain. The new location means Homebake will be scaled back in size but not in quality, with promoters promising a more intimate festival with an up-close-and-personal experience for punters.
Tickets will be strictly limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. To get your hot little mitts on the goods, you’ll want to be quick on the trigger next Wednesday, 26th September, with tickets going on sale at 9:00 AEST at the Homebake site, Oztix or the Sydney Opera House Box Office.
