Hundreds Of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Fans Are Campaigning For A Show In Katoomba

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have some very passionate fans. In fact, there’s a bunch of them in New South Wales’ Blue Mountains who are campaigning their asses off in an attempt to convince the band to play a show in Katoomba.

Last month, a campaign dubbed ‘King Gizzard For Katoomba’ (aka #KGizz4Katoomba) sprang into action, helmed by some peeps from local community broadcaster Radio Blue Mountains.

Since then, the group have captured the support of homegrown muso Julia Jacklin and local politicians like Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill, and they’ve put together a series of videos to show just how keen the local Gizz fans are.

They’ve even started a Change.org petition to bolster support for their cause.

“King Gizzard coming to Katoomba is about more than just playing a gig,” the petition’s creators say.

“It will show how much support there is for regional touring and connecting with rural creative people.

“We think King Gizzard will love Katoomba as much as Katoomba loves King Gizzard. We have a thriving local music and arts scene… but Australia’s bands keep passing us by.

“We want to make Katoomba a must stop destination for all major bands in Australia and overseas, starting with King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard.”

Music Feeds has contacted King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard for comment. The band is set to perform at Splendour In The Grass, Spilt Milk festival and their own Gizzfest festival later this year.
