Hungry Kids Of Hungary To Drop Sophomore Album February 2013

An official announcement has come through today that one of our finest musical exports, Hungry Kids of Hungary will be releasing their 2nd full-length album, much to the delight of their adoring fan base.

Dubbed You’re a Shadow, you will be able to sink your fangs into the release as soon as February 22 of next year. Tracked at the legendary Alberts Studios, where great things happen, the album is so far off to a good start, with the first warning shot Sharp Shooter becoming the most played song on triple j for the month of October.

It’s safe to say that fans now have the taste of new HKOF. The 2nd single, Twin Cities, is set to follow very closely in the footsteps of its older brother, fending music lovers off until the whole shebang hits shelves.

Says singer/axeman Dean McGrath of the release “You’re a Shadow was for us to challenge ourselves, and I think the result of that challenge is a record that’s an anomaly of sorts. The songs are more forward-thinking, but the production approach is more steeped in the traditions of the classic records from the 60s that we’ve grown up with. The arrangements are leaner and meaner, but it’s all been captured in a way that it sounds bigger than anything we’ve done before. We knew from the beginning we wanted to create something more bold, raw and ambitious than we’ve done before.”

It’s going to be a big year for the boys who have already thoroughly schemed up some pretty intense touring plans, both here and abroad.
